Load boards for new authorities: getting your first loads

Updated October 2026

Many new carriers find that some brokers won't book them until their authority has been active for a while, and many want to see insurance and safety records first. You can still get loads; it just takes preparation.

Be ready to get set up fast

Keep a carrier packet ready: your MC authority letter, certificate of insurance, W-9 and payment or factoring details. Answer setup requests quickly.

Search smart

Filter for brokers that work with new authorities, call quickly on fresh posts, and be clear that you're ready to roll. Some load boards and apps let you filter by broker requirements or show broker credit, which helps you focus.

Build relationships

Do great work for the brokers who give you a chance: on-time pickups, fast updates, clean paperwork. Those relationships turn into repeat loads.

Brokers ask for your certificate of insurance before they book you. See what coverage they require at CDLInsurances.com.
